Lone Star Junior Regionals 2008

Come win a bid to Nationals!  Being held in both Austin and Houston, Texas, Regionals is a great way to enjoy the great cities of our region plus win a bid to Nationals.  Age divisions 15s-18s are being held in Austin and sponsored by the Austin Sports Center and Austin Junior Volleyball. Age divisions 12s-14s are being held in Houston and sponsored by Houston Juniors. With many teams having already qualified, Regionals is a great way to seal the deal for your team.  Can't wait to see you there!

Pool information and flow charts for all 8 divisions have now been posted. Please note that the flow charts and several of the club championship divisions have been updated as a result of changes in the bid divisions.   As of 5 pm Friday, May 2, the 18 Club, 17 Club and 15 Club Championships have changed from the original posting. The 18 Club and 17 Club are new formats. The changes in the 15 Club relate to bracket play on Sunday. Please note that seeding was done by the region. Please be prepared to play late Sunday. There are matches scheduled as late as 6 pm on Sun, May 4.

NEW!!! This year there will be TWO divisions in each age group! 
The NATIONAL divisions in each age group are for teams who are playing in an attempt to earn a bid to go to the Junior National Championships in Dallas, TX. All teams participating in the National Division at Regionals are required to have completed and submitted all necessary application and paperwork for Junior Olympics into the Lone Star Region 
office no later than   April 25th, 2008. If these forms have not been received by 
the Region office,   you will not be allowed to participate in the National Division. 

A REMINDER FROM THE REGION OFFICE:   The conditions that must be met in order for  entries to be considered for the participation in the 
Lone Star Regional -  National Divison:
a) not have qualified previously for the Jr. National Tournament in the Open or National Divisions. As per the region (clarification from the region office on previously state criteria), teams with an American bid may participate
                b) have application and fee on file to play at the Jr. National Tournament
c) play in their assigned age division
d) have a coach who has completed the IMPACT clinic
e) have certified scorekeeper and referee
f) be registered in the Lone Star Region

The CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP divisions in each age group are for those teams who wish to participate in the Regional Championships but who do not want to compete for a bid for Nationals.

This change is approved by the region and will apply to all age groups, not just the ones playing in Austin.
